*Note* If you see a music bar that plays music, feel free to ignore it. I’m still figuring out how to change/get rid of it.
When I started this blog, my goal was to share stories about my life and the unique situations I found myself in. I believed they were interesting and that others would genuinely enjoy reading them. However, my experiences were somewhat limited, as they were mostly confined to Galway, a city in the west of Ireland. Unfortunately, I fell out of the habit of writing, and shortly after, the pandemic struck. At that time, I had just moved to Canada and was focused on working and building a life so I could eventually travel—something I haven’t had much opportunity to do yet, given the demands of establishing myself.
Over the past five years, I’ve made travel a priority, aiming to explore as much of the world as possible. While living in Vancouver, Canada, I dedicated my time to working and earning money, which I then used to visit places like Mexico, California, and various spots in Europe. Traveling has become second nature to me, and I now feel comfortable going from one side of the world to the other. My only limitations are time and money. One day, I hope to find work that allows me to take my career on the road. Thankfully, my spontaneous move from Vancouver to London proved to me that I’m capable of living anywhere I choose.
Writing a travel blog has been an idea I’ve been considering for the past couple of years. However, I never had the time to pursue it while living in Vancouver, as I rarely had any free time. Now, living in London, I enjoy a much better work-life balance and greater access to the world. I want to spend my free time writing about the cities I’ve visited and the resorts, hostels, and hotels I’ve stayed in—such as The Mayan Monkey in Los Cabos and Occidental Costa Cancun. There’s so much more of the world to explore, and endless opportunities for content.
When I first started this blog years ago, one of my ideas was to write a few paragraphs about the people in my life. I find people fascinating and enjoy learning about their lives, successes, failures, and ambitions. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know many ambitious individuals, all of whom, like me, dedicate every waking moment to working on themselves and their careers. I’d love to continue writing about the people I admire and am close with—if they’d be willing to let me.
As a newcomer to the world of blogging, there’s still so much for me to learn, especially when it comes to formatting and design. I hope my brain can absorb all the information—it’s a lot! Perhaps some friends I’ve made along my travels can offer guidance or point me in the right direction. That said, I’m happy with the path I’m on right now. Now that I’m older and have gained more experience since I first started this blog, I feel confident that I can build something solid on the foundation I’m creating.
With time, patience, and consistency, I hope to find an audience for this blog. I already have many friends, both past and present, reaching out to me on my Instagram @galway2everywhere (formerly @crazedgalway), sharing how much they enjoy following my travels through my stories and photos. Many of my trip stories are saved in my highlights, so I—or anyone else—can revisit them whenever we want. They also serve as a helpful reference when I’m telling a story and need an image to complement the picture I’m painting in someone’s mind.
This post marks the official foundation of the new blog I’m starting. I won’t be posting regularly for a while, as I have a lot to plan first and want to ensure I have solid content to share. For now, this post serves as a message to anyone who might come across it by chance and is curious about what’s to come. Here’s to a 2025 filled with good vibes!
